VK Barnet is north London's premier Volleyball club.

We train indoors every Wednesday evening (September till June) from 8pm to 10pm at the Queen Elizabeth Leisure Centre, Barnet, North London EN5 5RR (click here for a map).

We are affiliated to the Hertfordshire Volleyball Association and we currently run two Men's teams one in Division 1, the other in Division 2, one team in the Ladies' Division and a Mixed team.

Over the years the club has been very successful at all levels (winning both Men's Div.1 and 2) and whilst we have developed several international players, we make a point of welcoming all standards of player from absolute beginners to internationals.

Sean is running a 3-day Volleyball Camp and Young Leaders/Young Referees combined course in Barnet over the February Half Term.

There will be 3 volleyball sessions – Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th Feb from 1.00-3.30pm. These are open to anyone from age 11 to 19, any level of experience but more geared towards beginners.

On Friday 17th February there will be a combined Young Leaders & Young Referees (Officials) Volleyball Course from 10.00am – 4.00pm. These courses are certificated and can be used in some ways to supplement various curricular courses (eg GCSE PE).

All sessions will take place at Woodhouse Sixth Form College, Woodhouse Road, London N12 9EY.

If you’re interested, please follow these instructions to enrol prior to the session dates:

1. Log on to www.futureversity.org;
2. Under “Find a course”, type in “volleyball” in the “Search for a course” box and click on the “search” button;
3. Choose the Sessions/course you wish to participate in !

Enrolment is open from 24th January – 5th February and is on a ‘first come-first served’ basis.

There is a consent form and participants will need to provide a £5 cheque as a deposit which will be returned at the beginning of the session.

VK Barnet U16 girls team won their 2nd round tournament to qualify for the last 8 in the National Cup competition.

They’ll go on to play at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering on Sunday 26th Feb, and if they finish in top 2 they go to the Cup Final in May.

Enfield have kindly offered us the use of their full-sized court at the Aspire Centre, (Little Bury Street, off Church Street, N9 9HY) on Monday 12th December from 8 – 10pm. As both men’s teams have a match on the Wed 14th this would be an ideal opportunity to get in some hard practice. The cost is a £5 donation to their club (usually £8.50).
